My name is Tseng, Han-Jung. I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China. I received my first Piano lesson at the age of four, started learning flute at the age of ten from Chen Shu-Huei, Xie Chuo-Fen, and Zhuang Ching-Lin. I began my major study in flute with Juan Hsin-Yi at the Department of Music in The National Taipei University of Education from 2000.
I went to Austria for advanced study of flute performance and flute education in the year of 2001, with minor in piano education, at Anton Bruckner University in Linz (Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität), Conservatory Vienna University (Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität), and University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien). I studied flute with Dr. Norbert Girlinger, Dr. Rudolf Gindlhumer, Dr. Walter Wretschitsch, and Dr. Andrea Wild; piano with Dr. Russel Kline, Dr. Markus Prause, Dr. Walter Chmela, Dr. Inci Häusler-Altinok, and Dr. Adrian Cox.
I received both flute performing and flute education bachelor of art degrees with “Auszeichnung” (all-concurred most outstanding scholastic achievements), and my diploma in piano education. In 2007, I was admitted to the master’s program of both Conservatory Vienna University and University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and am now studying for my master’s degrees in both flute performance and flute education with professors Andrea Wild and Walter Wretschitsch .
During my course of study in flute, I regularly took part in chamber music seminars with emphasis on the Trio for flute, cello, and Piano. I have had the honor of following and learning from many masters such as Dr. Claus-Christian Schuster, Dr. Amiram Ganz (Altenberg Trio Wien), and Dr. Teresa Leopold. I have performed more than 100 times in Austria, Germany and Taiwan, as soloist or chamber musician. I
n the areas of musical education, I have taken part in the chamber music teaching program of Austria´s musical schools several times. I have taught in institutions such as Musikschule Retz, Beethoven Musikschule Mödling, and Musikschule Mürzzuschlag.
I have also authored “Study of Flute Sonata and Chamber Music by Bohuslav Martinu”, “Historical Background and Compositional Analyses of Symphony No. 3 by Gustav Mahler”, “Compositional Analyses and Educational Research of Flute Sonatas by Francis Poulenc”and“Historical Background and Compositional Analyses of g-minor Trio op.63 by Carl Maria von Weber” .
I was invited to play in the premiere of new compositions by Alfi Kabiljo in 2006, won my scholarship offered by the Memorial Fund of the famous flutist Werner Tripp, and participated in many master classes with Gisela Mashayekhi, Werner Tripp, Emily Beynon, Erwin Klambauer, Barbara Giesler, Andrea Lieberknecht, and János Bálint.
